‘Tis the season of care packages and what a fantastic season it has been! It started in early October with the purchasing of thousands of snacks as well as branded Bottom Line tumblers. Last month, Bottom Line staff helped assemble and send over 2,000 care packages to college students across Massachusetts and New York. Thanks from students came in the form of e-mails, phone calls, and Facebook shout-outs.
Below is what one student had to say.
What has been your favorite care package gift?
The Bottom Line tumbler!
What do you like most about care packages?
I love everything inside! Since I am a commuter student, I have to bring snacks with me to school every day. The cookies and popcorn and granola bars that are inside the care package are those snacks! They’re so good that I even have to remind my family not to eat them!
Showing college students that their counselor is thinking of them even when they’re not meeting one-on-one is important. Bottom Line staff help to form the backbone of many students’ support system and we aim to make sure students know they are appreciated. This is why, in addition to care packages, we also send November postcards and organize campus socials. While postcards offer quick messages of well wishes, campus socials provide more substantial time for counselors and students to interact over food and crafts!
